Pastor Rodney Humphrey was born October 13, 1961.  He married Cindy Huffman in June of 1981 and in September 1989 they had their only child, Erica Kaye.  In November of 1990, Rodney was saved by the grace of God at Faith Chapel Baptist Church in Jacksonville, NC.  In November 1991 Pastor Rodney announced his call to preach the gospel and served in several churches over the years.  In May of 2003, Rodney, along with his family and 7 other souls started Solid Rock Independent Baptist Church.  The goal then and to this day is to see people saved and lives changed.

  • We believe that in order to be saved, one must receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and be born again and declare his faith by the act of full immersion baptism.

  • We believe that the church is a body of baptized believers whose purpose is to preach and teach the gospel of salvation to all mankind.

  • We believe that there is a Heaven for those saved and a literal burning Hell for those who do not accept Jesus Christ as Savior. 

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone of the church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against Him.

  • We believe that marriage is ordained by God and consists of the holy union of one man and one woman.

  • ​​​We believe that the King James 1611 Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, beginning with Genesis 1:1 and ending with Revelations 22:21.

  • We believe in the Holy Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) and that He is the Creator of all things and all creatures. 

  • We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is God incarnate (the God-man).

  • We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross as the sin sacrifice for the world and that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead on the third day and ascended into Heaven and is sitting on the right hand of God the Father and that He is the intercessor between man and God.
